Norway Cruise

Each year we will do a trip to Norway. This will follow some of the route of the famous Shetland Bus heading as far North as Bergen before returning returning to Scotland.

This cruise is an epic adventure which makes the most of having 20 hrs of daylight and includes 2 days nonstop across North Sea passing to north of Magnus Oil field.  If you’ve always wanted to cruise the icy waters of the Northern Hemisphere then this is the trip for you.

Expect distilleries & castles, wildlife & walking, fjords & fishing and lots more besides.   We can offer some flexibility if you wish to disembark in Norway and explore further before making your own way home.

Details

Itinerary

A 13 night cruise from Scotland to Norway and back starting and ending in Inverness (optional exit points in Norway to make own way home).   En route we will visit a variety of ports & harbours, scenic landmarks and iconic attractions.  See the Cruise Options tab for more details.

Food & Drink

We include breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of your cruise.  Our cook will use the finest locally sourced produce, fresh from suppliers to deliver mouthwatering dishes.

Dinner will be the main meal of the day and will be served between 6pm and 7pm in sheltered anchorage or in harbour.  There will be occasion to dine whist on the move for example on our North Sea crossing.  We will endeavour to dine if the sea is calm or wait until we reach more sheltered waters/conditions.  The other meals of the day require more flexibility as the boat may be moving depending on our schedule for the day.

An honesty bar with wines, beers and spirits will be available.

Wildlife

Scotland’s waters and coasts are a playground for a wide variety of wildlife from minke whales & porpoises to puffins and sea eagles.    On our Norway cruise we enter the open waters of the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea where there is the chance to see pilot, minke, orca, humpback and sperm whales, whilst seal sightings are almost guaranteed.   Binoculars and cameras are recommended.

Visitor Attractions

At the start of each cruise the captain will meet with the all of the guests to discuss the planned route for your cruise which will take into account tides and weather.  We will endeavour to visit some of Scotland’s finest distilleries, castles and attractions from suitable nearby mooring.

Walking & Mountaineering

There will be plenty of opportunity to explore Scotland’s hills and mountains so bring along your walking/hiking equipment.

Our Norway Cruise is an epic adventure with long days sailing (20 hour days from start to finish) allowing us to cover as many miles as possible on our expedition to the cold waters of Norway.

In preparation for your journey, we recommend reading Shetland Bus by Graham Howarth and We Die Alone by same author.
